Description

Level:
The Invitation is an original work inspired by "The Doorway Effect" - the idea that stepping into a new space can disrupt memory and reset perception. We approach a landscape of doors that offer possibility, escape, and temptation. Each passage changes the world on the other side, and with every new threshold, the line between reality and distortion grows thinner. The score highlights an advanced Euphonium player and a flute soloist, and a unique and driving percussion voice, balanced with engaging winds score beginning to end. Originally commissioned for Vista Murrieta High School Band in 2025, the show was performed during a season that culminated in BOA Southern California and BOA Utah championships.
